From the 12th to the 14th of February members of the Cabrini Global Health Commission met in Codogno to develop a strategic plan for the year ahead. Members of the Commission include: Prof Ariel Pablos Mendez, Prof. Mario Raviglione, Ms. Sue Williams, Prof. Matt Sabin, Dr. Sr. Concepcion Vallecillo (acting chairperson), Sr. Patricia Godoy, Sr. Hanna Dima, and Ms. Nicole Rose Nieman. The initial part of the program entailed a formative visit of the Mother Cabrini Spirituality Centre and a discussion on the spirituality of Mother Cabrini led by Sr. Terezinha Merandi. Dr. Gisueppe Tansini and Sr. Concepcion provided a historical to current context of Mother Cabrini and the MSCs in health. The days contained good discussion on the macro and micro elements influencing health care provision, and understanding how best to support the MSC health sponsored ministries in their dynamic environments. Leaders from the health ministries joined via Zoom to share their perspectives in a synodal listening forum, and Sr. Eliane accompanied the members, sharing about the continued life and passion of the MSCs. The Commission members left with clear direction in their development of a strategy, and they look forward to continually advising and supporting the MSCs in providing the healing love of Christ to the marginalised and vulnerable.
