CONTENTS OF THE 1930 ST.EDWARD SEMINARY TIME CAPSULE
Items removed from the time capsule encased in the cornerstone of St.Edward Seminary in 1930 have been returned to the archdiocese.
The capsule contents included:
- A medal of Pope Pius XI, a medal of the Sacred Heart with Mother Cabrini on the other side, and a scapular medal
- A pebble from the shore of the Sea of Galilee and a stone from the streets of Nazareth
- The story of the seminary in five issues of the Catholic Northwest Progress newspaper
- A penny, nickel, dime and quarter minted in 1930
- Texts of the New Testament, the Code of Canon Law and St. Thomas Aquinas’ Summa Contra Gentiles
- A glass bottle containing a parchment document describing the blessing of the cornerstone
- An engraved invitation to the cornerstone event and copies of the apostolic delegate’s addresses
